The Book of Mona 4

“You know what Pay. You need to mind your own business. I am not lonely, I may be alone, but I’m anything but lonely. I keep myself company very well, thank you.”

“Yeah, you and your vibrator”, Payton said.

“Listen, Pay. Just because your loose and easily acessable…never mind, I’m too old for these childish games and so are you. Go find somebody else to play with, and dont be ringing my phone at 7 in the morning or I’ll give you something to whine about”.

She hung up the phone and rolled over and said, “Now I’ll never get back to sleep.”

Mona lay in her bed thinking over the past year. What had she accomplished? Nothing. She was still stuck in the same ole rut. What did she have to show for the past year. She’d felt like nothing when she was married, and now that she was divorced. She didn’t feel much better. A little lighter, yes. Because she didn’t have the weight of an ungrateful, demanding man on her back day in and day out. But inside, she still felt worthless.
