Order in the courtroom

Have you ever been that woman?

You know, the one who insists upon wearing business pants rather than the skirt because you know you’ll get a run in your hose or forget and sit improperly when you get on the subway to go home. Maybe you’re the girl who is one of the guys or used to be before all this corporate mumbo jumbo took over your life.

I’m that woman. The one jacked up on coffee and low calorie blueberry muffins. The one with the blue tooth attachment I’m always yammering into and the same hair cut I’ve had since I left college.

The corporate wold is exciting. If you consider dinner parties, copious amounts of wine and conversations about insider trading to be a riot. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job and being an attorney for Hill, Burton and Hugh’s is what I’ve always dreamed of. Granted the dream didn’t involve the gum chewing secretary whom I was quickly approaching. If she has been talking to my clients and smacking that gum….

I swish into my office . Just another day in paradise.
