I Know Lonely Too

I kept a close eye on Bailey and Cole until Bailey’s eyes began to blink and then close. I picked her up out of the swing and gently carried her to her mother. Then I walked back to the swings and saw that Cole was sitting on the trampoline. He looked bored as he jumped, then purposefully fell down, and lazily got back up again. I felt somewhat sorry for him. He didnt get along very well with my older neices and they, almost always, left him to play by himself. I could tell he was missing his favorite cousin and playmate, Ally. Unfortunately, she was on vacation this week. I sat on the swing and began to notice the hypnotizing effect that the back and forth motion had. I fell under its spell and began to feel tired. “Will you come jump with me?” I heard Cole yell. Ugh. I did not want to get off the swings. But then I remembered how I used to feel when I didnt have anyone to play with because I was in the middle. “Okay,” i said, “one second.”
