Freedom Dies

An innocent kid walks out of the arcade
where all of his childhood fears can just fade
always living inside his own head
never though his nightmares could be maliciously fed
and an hour from now he’d all but be dead.
It all started with some punk who thought he’d be cool
if he broke a few rules, challenged a weak boy to a duel
how’s he to know that it wouldn’t work out.
‘cause in his self-liberated mind there was nothin’ like doubt.
the shadows concealed what the eyes searched to find
makin’ the kid blind, so with all thought left completely behind…
in the pouring rain
nobody’s sane

when freedom dies, and fashion takes over
with the mind of a child
red rover, red rover

when freedom dies, with peers given life
become one of the crowd
green light, red light
