We had a huge fight. I haven’t talked to him in a week. I just couldn’t believe he’d do such a thing. It was 1 a.m, but I couldn’t sleep. I had just turned off my lap-top and was laying in my bed, begging sleep to overcome me.

As I lay there listening to the rain I heard another noise. A soft tap on my window every couple of seconds. I got up and looked out my window. There he was, standing there in the pouring rain, looking up at me with forlorn eyes.

I tiptoed out of my room and down the stairs. I opened the front door, it squeaked loudly, and held my breath. Good, Mom and Dad are still asleep.

I hesitated on my pourch, knowing what I had to do. Slowly, I walked up to him. Both of us sobbing wet now, I kissed him. It was a slow, passionate, painful kiss. He pulled away, anticipating what I was about to say.

“John. It’s over.” I could feel the tears in my eyes as I turned and walked away.
“Wait, we can work this out.” He grabbed my arm.

“John, no. You cheated on me. It’s over.”

Typical dramatic breakup. Gets to me everytime.

Why did you choose to use the name John, huh?
