The aweful emptiness of District Six

It was strange looking down to the modern City of Cape Town across the awful emptiness of District Six after all these years. Our house, the street where we played cricket when I was 8, the broken wall behind which I had my first kiss from that February girl when I was twelve, there was not even a memory left. Just grass, garbage and a few young alien bushes. Where was William Street?
