Sunset//chapter1

“You want some ice cream?” Ace asked me while we were walking downtown.
“Sure,” I said, not paying much attention. The sun was glaring down on us both, making me sweat, which made feel even more self-conscious about lifting up my arms. Girls don’t like to admit it, but hell, my B.O almost smells as bad as Ace’s.

So, we walked downtown, and school was starting soon. We both knew our time was limited together. Last month, Ace’s dad lost his job, and they had to commute all the way to California because he got a job offer that was even better than his last.
I don’t mean to exaggerate, but I cried a lot. Sometimes when I would wake up, my eyes would look like those pink donuts you buy at Dunkin Donuts, except without the sprinkles.
Ace always promised me we’d always be together, but that doesn’t neccesarily mean that it’s true.

There are lots of promises he’s failed to keep to me, and there are lots of times when our relationship almost ended.

I love him so much, though.
