City of Humanity

Light winds blow through green meadows
in the minds of my peers.
They see life ignorantly, peacefully.
I envision chaos in a cold, ruined city
everything in me is dark.

Good men and women lead lives
that cause death and destruction.
Their placidity and acceptance
leaves room for those who abuse kindness.
I am good, yet dark, but alas not evil.
