It's too late

It’s too late to apologize
I’m holding on to something that’s not around
I can’t feel what your saying
Or make sense of the sound
Coming from your mouth.

You created fear
Locked my heart in your chest
With all my tears.

It’s too late to apologize
Now you’ve taken all I had
Left me with the knowledge of how it felt to be loved
And how it felt to be sad.

I can’t jump in
You’ve tied my hands
Now I’m sinking.

It’s too late to apologize
It’s too late

I’m drowning in my dreams.
Falling apart at the seams.
I want to feel again
But you’ve taken it all just the same.
Who gave you the right
To leave me this way.

The imagery in this poem is very good—it reminded me of that new song by One Republic. The first and the last stanzas are especially nice.

    This is beautiful, beautiful poetry.
