One Last Promise

She pressed the ‘end’ button on her phone with a sigh, and rubbed her temples. The headaches were starting again. One last promise, she promised herself with a wry smile. She would try to lead these people more honestly and intelligently and stop fobbing them off with 1-800 dial-a-psychic generalities. She was better than that, and so, she hoped, were they.
