How About Them Cowboys

The car hood just about broke my back. My bed for the night, a red Pontiac Firebird with a white stripe running down each side like lightning strikes. Inside the car housed my two friends, Rick and Jeff.

The three of us decided to ride a Texas highway one weekend to a Dallas Cowboy’s football game. The idea was to drive to the stadium Saturday night, watch a college game, then stay for the night. The Cowboys played at noon on Sunday.

“Where do we sleep?” I asked Rick. “I mean, we can’t just stay up all night.”

Rick never made plans. Too much trouble. He said, “We’ll figure something out when we get there.”

We arrived on schedule Saturday night and watched a college football game. It was cool fall evening in Texas, perfect weather for such things. Since we had little money, and less sense, we stayed inside the stadium after the game. Rick, we can’t sleep in the bleachers of a professional football stadium!

Naturally, about two o’clock on Sunday morning I found myself on the car hood, asleep.

oh to be carefree and not make plans! Too bad i’m stuck right here, right now. Great story!

this was a great story but it has nothing to do with an autobiography, and autobiography tellas about whats happened in your life.

    nice job.

Well, “Maybe_Miseryx”, this did happen in my life. This story is very “autobiographical.” Even the names are real.

    Thanks for the nice comment.
