Confidence and Grace

The crowd sat in silent anticipation. Everyone knew what was going to happen. No one wanted to be the one person talking when they entered. So no one moved, no one talked.

The trumpets blared and the musicains arose. As the musicians started to play the grand doors opened. The music was just as majestic as the King and Queen, both of whom looked wonderful. They had never looked so beautiful.
They strolled out onto the dance floor and waited. As if on a cue, they started. Both had perfect movements, flowing as if they shared a mind. Neither one had missed a movement. This would be a wonderful night.
The music ended. The King and Queen, both red in the face, danced and twirled their way to the throne. As they sat the crowd stood, on cue, and went to the dance floor. No women wanted to try to match the grace of the Queen, and no man wanted to try to exert such confidence that the King had.

So they pretended. So many out there pretending they were just as good as the King or Queen, but never coming close.
