Funeral For a Friend

Clickity-clackity, clickity-clackity

Jason hated the train. There were certain uncomfortable things about New York that seemed to make each trip a little less enjoyable. Whether it was the ride down from Stamford, which was usually pretty bad, or the Subway, which was fantastically bad, Jason just didn’t feel right with public transportation.

Clickity-clackity, clickity-clackity

He never even went to the city during the week, when it was really bad; only on the weekends to visit friends who had moved away. Jason could never see his career leading him to NYC . He knew there was more money, more opportunities – more things to do, but Connecticut life was just fine with him.

Clickity-clackity, clickity-clackity, whoosh

It had been particularly bad today for Jason, being a Thursday, and for having to be dressed up and cramped into the dirty metal box with the unwashed masses, but he needed to be here today, to say good-bye.
