- O my gosh I can’t stand Jake. He is so annoying!

-You shouldn’t be so hard on him. I mean, he is new in school.

-You know what your problem is, Ashley? You are way too nice. You’ve got to start being meaner or you’re not going to be popular any more.

-That’s all you care about isn’t it, Abbigale. If some one isn’t popular you just have to diss them. You have serious issues.

-See? That’s what I’m talking about! That was the perfect attitude to keep you popular.

-What ever. Now back to Jake…oh, look; here he comes now.

-Hey Ashley. I was wondering if you’d like to go out some time?

-Sure. How bout after school?

-Souds good to me.

-How could you?! You know I like him!

-But you just said you couldn’t stand him.

-You should know by now not to listen to anything I say! I always mean exactly the opposite unless it has to do with fashion.

-Whatever. I’m not telling him I can’t go.

-Fine! Just go then, X-friend.

-You’re rediculous. Bye Miss Popularity.

  • from Nick:

The dialogue is great… spot on… I can totally imagine these two girls. But am I missing the “twist ending” here?

  • from uselessness:

I’m with Nick on this one. The dialogue was terrific! I think you could have made the twist more shocking by hinting at what it really means. If the girl always says the opposite of what she means, what else has she lied about? You could take that in any number of directions—the girls’ friendship is a sham, something important from the past was totally misconstrued, the girl has dark secrets… who knows? There’s so much potential here. Thanks for entering my challenge!

  • from Hunting Beauty:

ya…I agree. the twist on this wasn’t that good. i had a brain fart on the twist. other wize it would’ve been better. oh well…at least I got some good practice. :)
