Truly, last week was hell.

My damned oathes conflicted… again.

Only this time…. Let me fall into detail.

Last night, I discovered something truly awful. My lover, who I had been with for years, is a vampire. How I could not have noticed this, is a mystery to me. Though it did explain those red bottles everywhere.

My oath of chivalry tells me to protect my lover, yet my Holy Orders says to kill the vampire. What can I do? Protect my lover from myself?

Well, I examined myself a while after we last had… intimate contact. I can find nothing different about myself. Every part of me, from head, to toe… completely normal. Would she really have restrained her bloodlust… and somehow avoided tainting me… for me?

Well, I’m off to report to my lord, Sire Charles the Avenging of Wellington. But the thing is…

What am I to say? I am also made, by my oath, to tell the truth… but if I did, I would recieve orders to kill her, and then…

...It is noon!!! See you on the morrow!

  • from THX 0477:

Great story idea with a lot of possible twists and turns and points of view. I loved the idea of the simple-minded (my read on the character) knight inspecting himself in front of the mirror.

  • from RunningWithScissors:

hmm. great introduction—id like to read more.
“let me fall into detail” ++pretty line. :]

  • from JMBauhaus:

I like this… I liked that you didn’t reveal the vampire’s gender until the sixth paragraph, nor the narrator’s at all. Lends some nice ambiguity that could be taken in a lot of different directions.

  • from Kermitgorf:

    Such confliction!
