The blue uniformed German crumpled up the sheet of newsprint and tossed it into the garbage. “Bah.” He grunted in his accent. “Sir?” A group of colonist soldiers came up to Steuben. “What is it?” he responded in his German tongue. His translator, sitting nearby, respoke this into English. “We’ve spottted a huge cavalry group off to the north!” they shouted in unison. Steuben’s translator didn’t even have to translate this. The wound through his heart told him everything he had to know as the Second Siege of Boston began. It would be the turning point of the war for the British.

And with any luck, the United States of America would be still functioning by the time the thousands of British cannons finished raining hell upon it.
