Walking Off

There were thousands of flowers floating in the creek. I laid next to it. The grass was a briliant green and so soft. The creek babbled as it tripped over the rocks, moving the many flowers along with it. This was my favorite place to be. I could just come here and lay for hours.

I bent down, picking up a flower, and put it in my hair. I laid on my back and stared up at the clouds. It was a beautiful day, the sky at its bluest.

Hours and hours passed. There was no way I was going home. My mom could cool-off for a few days before I even thought of coming home again.

It was around 1 a.m. when I got up. I must have dozed off because I didn’t remeber the sun setting. I didn’t even know where I was going to go. I looked back towards my house, I couldn’t see it. I turned and walked off, not knowing if or when I’d ever be back.
