Abigail sobbed, still half-naked behind Edmund’s ficus. He lay on the ground, pants off, bleeding from everywhere. They say don’t fuck your boss, but she doubted it was because they knew this was going to happen. She clung to the ficus, as if it was her only anchor to reality. Everyone would be dead, all the people in the entire twenty-story building. Every cubicle spattered with blood. She was just an intern, what the hell did she do? She hadn’t spit in anyone’s coffee, that was Rosaline.

She stood up, “This is bullshit…” She muttered, ready to die- as long as everyone else was. She stepped through the open office door, over Edmund’s body, then paused. She looked down at his face, his graying hair. He wasn’t bad, even in death, he looked great for his age. She turned away from his piercing eyes, and walked to the elevator. Push button, wait, doors open, enter. Floor 11, she shrieked, “Fuck this!” She began screaming at the 10th floor, didn’t stop til she was at the lobby.

She stumbled out, alive.

Wow, just discovered this series. Very intense, and I love having it from a different point of view each time out.
