Ficlets

College Stories: Friends, Fun, and Fridges

This story began about a month ago when two friends of mine who are roommates got their 5 ft. tall fridge taken out of their room, due to the fact that dorm fridges aren’t supposed to be over 4 ft. tall. They were bummed about it, but they got over it and went without for awhile until this week, when they decided to get a new one. We had just gone out to eat, and they decided to use to opportunity to buy a fridge, since one of them had just gotten a Wal-Mart gift card from his parents.
It was a pretty good night, except for the fact that I was unable to pay for my meal, so they paid for me. Little did I know that I would be earning my dinner. They looked at the fridges that were available and decided on one. They bought it and brought it out to the car they had driven. That was when the trouble started. The car was too small. I ended up standing in the freezing parking lot for about half an hour to wait for them to return with a bigger vehicle.
