Hide and Seek

I felt the wind on my face.
Okay.. I pretended to feel the acceleration of my heart and the drop of my stomach and the wind, the wind on my face.
But such pleasures had long gone.
And as I hit the sidewalk, I tried desperately to feel something, but nothing came and in less than an apparation instant I was back on the rooftop.
I sighed and looked down, calculating how many times I could do this in a day.
A heavy slam and some stomping sounded from the staircases.
Slouching and slinking into the shadows I watched and waited. And what I saw was a rather delicious looking man appear with a too angry scowl painted across wide, broad lips. His skin was the color of a caramel coffee and I briefly remembered how addicted I had been to Starbuck’s.
How ridiculous. He looked much more yummy to drink.
I smiled when real frustration began to play across his face and curiousity danced in his eyes. Come out, come out, wherever you are..
I sucked in a big breath that I really did not need and tiptoed forward..
