Dawn

“No way,” Mark breathed. “A wolf is trying to tell me she’s actually my classmate? I must be delusional,”
Luna gave a strong, objective bark. She shook her head defiantly and put her paw on the name she had scraped into the dirt.
“It can’t be,” Mark protested.
Luna started to become irritated. She scraped another message into the dirt.

STAY UNTIL DAWN

“Here?” Mark asked.
Luna nodded.
Then they descended into an uncomfortable silence. A few hours later, Mark spoke.
“It’s almost 7:00…The sun should be up in a few,” he said, checking his watch.
Luna looked towards the sky. Sure enough, the blue was starting to show. She trotted a little bit into the forest. She barked.
“I should follow you?” Mark asked.
Luna nodded.

The sun started to come up. Luna nodded towards the sky.
“Yeah, the sun is coming up,” Mark said.
There was a small white light, and Luna stood in her human form before her classmate.
“Do you believe me now?” Luna said, smiling grimly.
