Black World

Sora sat in her bed; It was a few minutes after midnight. She couldn’t sleep. The day, yet again, had passed quickly as a video reel before her eyes. Only Sora couldn’t see.

She stared into the infinite blackness that was her world. She didn’t know what color looked like, nor what beauty it is to behold a lustrous rose in full bloom.

Only by touch, scent and hearing could make out the world. Sora had a few memories when she was small of different things- a ball, TV, other children, water, flowers, a few colors;

But other than that, the universe in which Sora existed in was one wholly made up of what she felt.

Everyone told Sora she was beautiful—she hoped so. Over and over again she ran the events of that day in her mind.

Sora entering her father’s lab- her little foot tripping over a container; And then, the excruciating pain she felt when the acid splashed over her eyes.

Sora had woken up in a hospital room;

From then on, her world had gotten dimmer and dimmer.
