Quadratic Equations

“Well, I’d better do my homework for tomorrow,” Sora sighed. She got up, and Noah was instantly at her side.
“What do you have to do? I’ll help,” Aysen offered.
“Thanks. I only have to finish some quadratic equations in math,” Sora said. She started to move forward with Noah.
“Don’t you go to a special school?” Aysen asked.
“I knew you’d ask that,” Sora said bitterly. “I used to, until my biological father found out. He said that his daughter, even if she was sold, couldn’t be found out being blind, so he sent me back to a normal school.”
“What?” Aysen said angrily. “That would be double the work for you!”
“Like he cares. My teachers are really nice, though. They ordered all my books in Braille editions and gave me special homework,” Sora said. “So it’s not all bad.”
He squeezed her hand reassuringly.
“What school do you go to?”
Sora told him.
“Same as me!” Aysen said. “Then, from now on, I’ll keep a watch on you at school.”
“You don’t have to do that,” Sora laughed.

“Trust me,” Aysen said. “I do.”
