Ficlets

Playground.

A creaky swing
an abandoned slide
a climbing tower
a place to hide.

the playground
it was always so lonely for me.
I sat all alone
reading by the tree

The others all mocked me
They just don’t understand
Just because I’m big
can’t even toss underhand.

I never liked sports
or sunshine or running
I’m doing right fine
just with my cunning.

So let them all sweat
and toil away
I’d much rather learn
than go out and play.
