a high heeled shoe and a diamond ring (very detailed version) part 3

He took my hand and lead me towards the stone bench where he invited me to sit. It was a beautiful night the stars shone brightly down like diamonds and I laid my head on his shoulder, picking up the scent of his special cologne he used especially for our dates. It’s sort of a peppermint smell. That’s when he got up and walked to the other side of the newly paved patio and picked something up from behind a rosebush bearing brilliant purple roses. He slowly turned and walked back but sit he did not. He took my hand got down on one knee and pulled out a dark purple velvet box in which was a beautiful diamond ring crowned in gold and outlined in silver that said “I love youâ€?. Then he asked the most dangerous question you could ask anyone. He asked me to marry him. The sincereness of the love in his voice was enough to make me cry. He fingered the small curls of brown hair hanging beside my face and gingerly wiped away my mascara filled tears. I wish I could have said yes but there just was no way I could.
