A World Of Amazing Lies and Liars

The neon sign flickered as I walked past, as if it was trying to reach out to me…

Warn me of the events that were about to pass…

Tell me that the entrance, the very same entrance it was built to advertise contained nothing…

Nothing but lies…

I walked in, hesitantly, and was instantly overwhelmed by a pervasive scent of old, musty incense. There were moth-eaten curtains hanging across the wall at the far end of the room. I looked around, but there was nothing else to see but a few floor pillows that looked like they had seen better days. The rug that covered the red ocher painted floor had a holes made from many impatient, treading feet like mine.

But there was nothing else there.

No psychic like the sign in the window had said.

The first lie… I thought. I hadn’t expected much when I had walked in, but there was something I had to know.

I turned around, and was halfway out the door when a deep, scratchy voice behind me spoke.

“I am no lie…”
