It's a Dog's Life for Buddy

My family’s always nice to me. Everybody except the big cheese. He always yells at me when I bark to tell Mom that people are coming, or if I try to get human food. I have to admit, though, he is nice at times. I’ve got to say my pal is Mom, she’s the one who took me to her home after my years at the SPCA . She is the one who walks me and takes care of me in general. Then there’s the little kid. She really gives me great belly rubs, but she can really get annoying. She always gets up in my face and in this high-pitched voice go, hesagoodBuddy! I’ve learned to live with it, though. There’s a teenager, too. One night, he was playing so loud on the guitar. I put my head in Mom’s lap so my eardrums wouldn’t burst. He’s a good pal… sometimes. Let’s just say I wish I got more attention from him. At least he’s not as annoying as you-know-who. Then the big cheese. Whenever he enters the room, the whole atmosphere changes. I know instantly to be a good boy and lay down. All in all, it’s a dog’s life for me, Buddy.
