Full Moon at Bomba's

“I don’t believe it!”

“What don’t you believe, Snooz?”

“That girl with the long, blond hair at the end of the bar. She was at Holsclaw Hall when I was there.”

“Snooz, that was eight years ago. Are you sure?”

“Oh yes, I had such a thing for her for about a year. Totally obsessed. I have to say, Hi.” She grabbed my hand and began pushing her way through the press of “tea” drinkers that was slowly circulating about the bar as the monthly “tea” was being prepared.

As Snooz dragged me along, the blond looked up and smiled. I don’t think it was my looks as much as the sight of a 6 ft 6 in dork ducking the rough logs used as roof beams while brushing aside the T-shirts, bras and flags hanging from the logs. Snooz was invisible to her until she stepped around the last person.

Before Snooz said a word, I knew she had been right; as the smile directed towards me was transformed into a look of shock.

“Maddie? Is it really you?” was all Snooz was able to say before the blond had wrapped her in a crushing hug.
