I Alone Love You: A Tale of Good Friday

Jaxson was dismayed as he left the Church. It seemed to leave him more empty now, just when he needed it most. He plugged his ears and pressed play. Shoving his hands deep into his pockets, he walked a little faster. The wind carried a biting chill this morning.

It’s easier not to be wise. And measure these things by your brains.

Jax thought about the words. Maybe that’s where he was going wrong. Maybe he was over thinking this whole thing. He tried to pay attention as the Priests chanted.

I sank into eden with you. Alone in the church by and by. I’ll read to you here, save your eyes. You’ll need them your boat is at sea.

He sighed and his breath came out a frosty haze. Stopping, he leaned against the rusty mailbox.

Your anchor is up, you’ve been swept away. And the greatest of teachers won’t hesitate. To leave you there by yourself. Chained to fate, yeah.

Jax looked up. What he saw on electrical post, looking down at him brought him to his knees.

I alone love you. I alone tempt you.
