Don't Look Back In Anger

I stifled a giggle. Dylan didn’t seem to notice. He had his hands on his hips and he was staring at me intently.
“Did you get my email?” I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the blob of spinach resting between his teeth.
“Um yeah…”
“Do you think we can be friends again?” God! This was too much. I felt like laughing and crying at the same time. I looked around, to make sure Ashton Kutcher wasn’t hiding in the bushes waiting to yell out “Punk’d”... but we were alone. Except for the giant wad of food in his teeth.

“Dylan. If you want me to pretend like nothing happened, fine. I can do that. But we’re never gonna be… friends. We’re just too different… you showed me that at the camping trip…” Dylan made a face.
“Is this because of Charlie?” What?
“No.” I said hotly. “This is because of you… and me” and because I’ve been in love with you for three whole heart-breaking years, you doofus! And because when I told you how I felt, you promptly found the nearest bimbo and sucked face with her… in front of me…
