Mirror, Mirror, On the Wall, What is My Greatest Fault of All?

One day, I looked in a mirror
And whatever did I see?
All of my failures, all my faults
Looking straight back at me.

Lust laid a laughing leer
While Envy urged me on.
Happiness just wouldn’t show;
Greed grew gargantuan.

Pride prodded me to the point
Where I thought I couldn’t proceed,
And Avarice all but won me out,
While making friends with Greed.

Gluttony glurged and gave me up,
Sloth would succeed for sure.
Agony was my only friend,
Sin my only spur.

And all this contained in just this one
Tiny, little silver mirror.
Would Hope come through, just one more time,
Would anything shine clearer?
