The clock ticks
Its time to go
But others remain
Who don’t allow you to move

Shackled to this desk
A slave because of life choices

If I had chosen the simple life
Maybe I wouldn’t have to worry
About the whispering voices

Insanity in modernity? If I got it right, it makes for a nice ode to the woes of the business office lifestyle and maybe even, on some level, an accusation against our modern way of life as contributing to stress/mental illness/unhealthiness. Short but deep.

yes, you hit it right on the nail!

Another splendid poem. It reminds me of my life. Love your poems. Keep ‘em coming!
