When Pigs Fly

Mom and Dad had just gotten over an argument when I came out and sat down on the couch. Mom was reading yet another book and dad was watching the “game”. I stared at mom and then at dad. Their blank expressions gave me a hint they didn’t know what was the matter.
“What?” the both said at the same time.
“Are you guys going to get a divorce?” I asked. “You have been fighting ever since the beginning of May, what’s the problem?”
They both looked at each other.
“When pigs fly!” said mom. Then, she looked at dad.
“We’ve been fighting over what to get you for your birthday!” Mom got up and walked down the hallway. Then, she came back with a small box. I opened it up and there it was, my very own cell phone!
I few weeks later, dad came in and asked me when I would ever stop texting my friends. I replied with familiar answer
“When pigs fly!”
