“Tony? TONY !” Joe yelled.
A frazzled-looking blond man stuck his head out over the edge of the roof. “What is it Joanna?”
“How long until you two have that hole in the roof fixed?”
“Virgil thinks about another half hour. Why?”
“I’m trying to escape Cheshire and the only excuse I could think of was that I was coming to check on you two.”
“Heaven forbid you actually show some concern for us!” another voice yelled, its source out of sight.
“Shut up Virgil! Nobody asked you!” Joe shouted.
“Joe be nice!”
“You can’t make me! I’m the boss!”
“He’s my boyfriend and if you don’t like him you can find yourself another surgeon!”

“Why is Cheshire so irritable anyway? I thought she’d be glad to be back in Oregon!” Tony added.
“Well she wasn’t too pleased with my choice in structures….”
“What’s not to like?”
“I dunno. I think she just got angry because the faucet in the kitchen exploded and the tap broke her coffee cup. And her nose.”
“I can’t imagine why THAT would make her angry.”
“Me neither.”
