Lucky Man

All I can see is her. I’m a lucky man. She’s standing there looking at me. I recognise the way she is looking at me as it’s a mirror of my own face. God, I love her.

I think about how we met. Everything good in my life seems to have come around by chance. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me.

She’s looking a little quizzical now. I don’t care. I want to live in this moment forever, she still looks radiant. How could something so good happen to me? Why is she interested in a dork like me? Life’s strange, yet wonderful at the same time. She loves me. I know it. I can see it. She really loves me.

Her eyes are so emotive. Drawing me in. I could look into them forever. So lovely and clear.

I never want to be apart from her. She makes me complete. Without her I’m nothing. How strange, I used to revel in independence. Now I need her to be whole.

She smiles. I smile. She knows what I’m thinking. I can’t hide anything from her. I can’t lie to her. I can only be me.

I love her.

“I do” I hear myself say.
