Considering the Options

Wounded sailors stumbled off of the wreck of the airship and helped those unable to get out on their own. A few trees nearby started to smolder, trails of smoke climbing into the night sky. It was clear now, and by the light of the thin crescent moon Anso could make out some of the rocky, sparsely forested terrain though it was completely unfamiliar to him.

He had never been this far south before, and would be completely lost without a guide. Circling the flaming wreck, looking for survivors he spotted two of the sailors carrying an unconscious Lucrezia to safety in a clearing some distance away.

Starting towards them, Anso considered his options along the way. He could leave if he wanted now, none of these men looked likely to stop him. But which way? He could pick a direction at random and hope for the best, but his woodslore was rather rusty and he would rather not depend on that for food. He would stay with the ship for now.

His ears pricked up at a peculiar squealing and grinding noise from the east.
