Let Us In, Uncle Jim

Gina forgot to close the door of the station wagon as she ran to greet the square-jawed boxer. “Hiii Simpy! Hii girl… How are youuu?” Gina said as Simp pulled against the silver links of the metal chain. “Maaa-om, Simp’s chain is caught up in Grandma’s scream door and it’s hurting Grandma’s flowers.”

Jason laughed and pinched Gina on the arm. “It’s a screeeeen door not a scream door, stupid!”

“Mom, Jason pinched me.” Gina said, rubbing the red spot on her arm.

“Jason, don’t pinch people. Gina! Leave Grandma’s marigolds alone.”

“But I was just telling you about Simpy,” Gina whined as her white hair blew against tearful blue eyes.

“Jason, go around front and see if your Uncle Jim will let you in. Watch for cars,â€? Mom said as she knocked loudly on the front door of Grandma’s house.

“JIM! Let us in! JIM !” Jason yelled as he pounded the rarely used metal door knocker.

“JIM! It’s Me!” Jason yelled.
