Make It Count

Numb…usually you hear the word and think of a physical feeling. But thats not what its really like to be numb. Far away from the pain of the world, the pain of life. Tucked into your own little cocoon, brain protected by a thick layer of shrink-wrap. Each word bounces off of the armor like a bouncy ball thrown against a wall. The world is covered in a thin layer of ice, and its not safe out there. So you stay, comfortable, unthinking, and…numb.
The mantra rolls through your head. Sometimes its “safe, safe, safe.” Sometimes it’s random words “fast race, fast race.” The words keep you away from the ice, from all of those bouncy balls just waiting to catch you off guard to drag you down again. Back to the dark.
But then one word, one random event,or sometimes just dumb luck, reminds you that its time to live.
Don’t waste your life being afraid. Don’t hide. Don’t let yourself go numb.

Make it count.
