The Fellowship Ch.10

“You didn’t see the pilot or co-pilot, did you?” asked James
Rick shook his head, “No, Im afraid not. You blokes are the only ones who survived.”
He poked the fire with a cutlass, then held it up to his eyes.
“George, I think we should show them to their rooms now, don’t you?”
George smirked, “Yes, now if you children would follow me, I’ll show you to your rooms.”
Several of us frowned in confusion, but got up and followed him all the same.

George was a large man. Not very fat, but still ungainly and cumbersome in some manner. Rick, on the other hand, was tall and thin, but not to the point at which he looked like a toothpick. He had an air of slyness around him, and seemed to slink behind behind everyone else quietly, until they reached a broad opening in the middle of the trees of the island.
It was a long and wide dirt road. On the opposite side of us was a worn down barracks where the soldiers had apparently slept. We turned to the sound of Rick’s voice.
“Good evening, children…”
