The year is 1954, a slightly younger version of Ed is reading a paper at a cafe. Three men in trench coats walk into the cafe. Ed looks up at them.

“Is it time already, has it been a week? Please let me stay here, I won’t tell anyone.”

The head trench coat speaks up. “Ed a deal is a deal. We gave you a week in beautiful 1954 and now you need to come with us and do your part, when you’re done, right back here you’ll come.”

Ed shakes his head, without a fight he leaves with the men.

Now outside Ed smiles as he gets his last few minutes of what he called “the purest years of all time” a tear forms in the corner of his eye, deep down he knows he’ll never be back.

  • from Phil Sporlan:

I’m kinda jumping around with this one, but I’m not in tune with Sandra and Sol-leks at this point. I was but they have changed a little so I’ve got ED, we should probably consider a website, forum, email list etc for this ficlet, Not only could it go on for ever in a thousand directions be made into a movie and t-shirts I already have ideas for t-shirts…anime… I like to rant

  • from wytherwings:

ooooi have ideas for a t-shirt!! lol that sounds cool.
someone sequel!! I would but I really don’t want to ruin it. And I’m not sure where this is going…
    it’s awesome though!!

  • from Eckhouse:

Cool backstory – I like that there’s not tons of detail in it, and that there’s still some mystery. I say keep branching this thing off wherever you or anyone wants to take it.

  • from g2 (la pianista irlandesa):

I like what Eckhouse is saying; not a ton of detail, makes for great springboarding. Or, how it’s referred to here, sequeling. This thing could go in six gazillion directions. Let’s keep this puppy going!

  • from invisibility_disability:

this one confused me. how can Ed time travel? (thanks for finally sequeling, by the way. saved me a lot of angry comments.)
