“I can’t let him get away with this!” she hissed into the phone. “You have no idea how important it is! And he’s breaking so many international antiquities laws by doing this, I have to go after him myself!”

“Vi, no you don’t. You can’t. He’s already shown that he’s ready to do whatever’s necessary to keep it.” they argued for nearly an hour before she finally conceded, “God, Vi, you’re so stubborn. Just be careful, ok? He’s a really scary dude.”

She arrived at the airport at 9, for a 10:05 flight, thanking the Orbitz gods. She knew she’d sleep on the plane for an hour, get there before noon. Sure enough, as soon as she plunked into that coach seat, she was aleep.

Her dreams were filled with images of that woman, and the horrible demons. They gnashed their teeth, and she cried.

She bought a map of Istanbul and left the airport. It wasn’t far, she could definitely walk there. She emerged from the air conditioned terminal into the summer heat of Turkey, and set off in the direction of the museum.
