That Road

The only time I’ve ever been on that road, I had no idea that the oil pan in my car had a leak. About a hundred miles after the last, small town disappeared from my rear view mirror, the red “Oilâ€? light went on. A chill went down my back. There were no other cars nearby, and within a mile or so the engine seized up. The next two weeks were the most intense and terrifying of my life.
