my little frankie part 1

The car lazily sputtered to life. The engine hummed with short pauses interrupting the enchanting sound. I grabbed the black plastic handle and struggled to put the car into reverse.
“Stupid car…â€? I said to myself. I slowly began to back out of the driveway, careful not to hit the gray trashcans that the trash-men had yet to pick up. I put my hands on the steering wheel and skillfully guided the car back. I pulled out slowly and drove out of my neighborhood.

I arrived at my daughter’s house within a few minutes of driving down the road. The house was small but live-able. I noticed that the hanging plants need water and she still hadn’t mowed the grass since I was here. Orange and brown crinkled leaves littered the lawn and I felt an urge to clean. I stopped myself from helping out and went inside.
