Order in Chaos

“Welcome to hell. You appear to have…” She looks at her chart, “come by means of the unnatural. Welcome! We here take pride in the care and consideration we have for our residences.” Kicking the poor screaming man on the floor, she motioned towards a peculiar door. Peculiar in the sense that it seemed a lot more.. and for lack of a less ironic and better word.. warm. Friendly even. He stared at it, clearly forcing a choice of whether or not to heed Robert’s warning, but the kindly lady shoved him through. It was in an instant that what felt like a rush of intensely icy water enveloped him and then dispersed. Jacek fell panting to the ground, hair standing up on his neck, struggling to breath. Catching his breath slowly, he looked up. A light. Just a light in a chair. He was in a nice office space now, and was extraordinarily confused. That uncomfortable humidity was gone, it was cool and relaxing, as if he had gone into a well maintained home.

“Jacek, we would appreciate it if you would register with us.”
