Peripheral Evil: Part 27 Aftermath

Sully sat on the ground holding a sleeping Talia. Jim had just returned from the unburned bowels of the lodge, bearing offerings of hot coffee, which Sully turned down. Scott smiled weakly but took the mug graciously.

“I didn’t know she had it in her,” he said as he looked at Kara, bound and gagged with duct tape.

Her eyes were red and wild. She struggled against her restraints as if she were demon possessed. They had all wondered, in the past three days, if she were indeed, demon possessed.

If not for the witches, Kara would have killed Talia for speaking to the Djinn and no one knew why. Yet.

“None of us had a clue, Scott,” Jim answered, shaking his head. “None of us.”

Sully’s tried to blank his mind. If he didn’t, he was afraid he would go crazy. This was too much. No one was who he grew up thinking they were.

Talia had been talking to the Djinn. His father was part of some secret sect. His mother was a witch. Kara really was a bitch. And he was a bigger freak than he ever imagined.
