Ignorance Must Burn (Part 1)

The city of New York was all around him.

Hollow structures of concrete and steel ascended from the earth, crowning it in its horizon. Reflections of the city lights and the dimming sun were shone upon every surface. Reflections of orange, white and red pervaded every street and corner, only not reaching the dark depths of the damp alleyways, long wet from the storm that took place not too long ago. The raindrops had coated the roads, walkways, buildings, and people with a thin layer of glistening liquid.

He could see all from this very place.

High up on an arching building he stood, the beauty of New York being reflected onto him. Was it beauty? No, beauty doesn’t exist within his mind. Its simply a cover, something to throw someone off, force them away from the truth. This world is ignorant, and like all ignorance, it should burn.

The man grimaced slightly, noticing a taxicab stop across the street.
