Exshaustion

Mom had to drag me away from Tyler once we got to the cabs. I realized with a start I wasn’t going to see Tyler again for atleast eigth hours while we slept. A single tear escaped my eye as I ducked into the waiting cab.

“Oh Rose…” My mom sighed when we was in next to me, having noticed the tear. “What am I going to do with you? Your crying because you can’t see him while you sleep?! What are you going to do when he returns to Georgia?”

I winced at my mom’s voice even though her tone was gentle. I knew she was right and I was being silly… but it felt like half of me was missing and it was killing me not to be whole again. It was almost easier to be away from him when I hadn’t been so close first I thought bitterly to myself.

The cab pulled up to our hotel then and the two of us climbed out slowly. We trudged up the stairs and into our room. Both of us were suddenly to tired to move and collapsed onto the bed with our clothes on.

I woke up the next morning to the sharp ringing of my cell.
