Reunited

I took a deep breath. My car slowed as the tavern came into view. After I parked I pulled down the mirror.
My face looked like a barbie’s. My green eyes popping out, it seemed from all the eyeliner. And my lips were coated in burgendy lipstick. I opened the car door and pulled down my yellow dress. Ugh. I couldn’t believe how I had let my sister talk me into wearing yellow.
I grabbed my purse then made my way to the restruant. I turned my gaze away from the poppy field in the back, not wanting to dwell on that moment like I did that whole morning. My eyes searched for my childhood friend. I could barely imagine what he would look like now.
“Anna!” I snapped my head to the direction I heard his voice. Then I saw him. His curly brown hair cut short, his grey-green eyes as beautiful as always.
“Tyler?” I started toward him, a smile on my face. He was smiling also, his arms out wide. I hugged him gently, then slowly pulled away .
“I can’t believe it’s really you,” he murmered. “It’s been so long,”
