Anna's Nights

One tear, one insignificant tear escaped her. And that was all it took for her to break down. Both her hands grasped the short fence infront of her. She tried desperately to remain standing, and not just collapse in the floor like she’d done before.

Her knees became shaky, so she opened her eyes in an attempt to concentrate harder on being sturdy. Yet when she did that, she realized she was leaning over the fence a little bit, and so she was looking straight at the pavement, 3 floors below.

Suicide was never something she would do, but she liked to think about it. Not about doing it, but about how so many others would have done it if in her position, but she still hadn’t. It made her feel a little bit stronger in a way.

But unfortunately, it didn’t stop the tears. So she just stood, bent over the fence sobbing. She felt a huge heave in her stomach, and suddenly she threw up onto the pavement below.

“Oh Anna no..”
