Residing Dreams (Chapter 186)

So we ended up researching the topic of homosexuality that afternoon.I learned that it had been around for centuries, and many different cultures and religions had different viewpoints. One interesting thing we read was that the original gay-pride flag was hand-dyed by Gilbert Baker. It flew in the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade on June 25, 1978. “That was a year after I was born!” I exclaimed. “Well, I consider June 5th, 1977 my birthday, since that’s the day I was found. But still,I find it fascinating.Perhaps I was born in June for a special reason,” I thought aloud. “I’m sorry, but I just didn’t know there was all of this information out there.I thought it only happened to a few people. I guessed it was just something people talked about to be spiteful. I mean, as far as I know, there have never been any gay people in my hometown, Pleasantville, or even in the whole county! Aside from my father, of course,” I added. “So the rainbow has meant something else all along,” I considered.
